What is Grafficars?
Launched in September 2010, Grafficars is a unique initiative launched by Balsa Cars. It aims to use the unlikeliest of things - model cars, to empower struggling village artists and promote traditional Indian art.
How do the artists benefit?
Grafficars provides artists with simple car models to create unique 'art cars'. From the sale of each of these three-dimensional works of art, 50% of the proceeds are paid back directly to the artist who created it. In most cases, by having even a few of their creations sold every month, these artists are able to virtually double their monthly income.
How many artists has Grafficars helped?
Grafficars began with only 5 artists. Today it employs more than 45. Most of the artists are from villages around Jaipur, which many consider to be the artistic centre of India. We are always finding ways to help more artists and expand to other villages. Your purchases help us do this.
